Compare the statements

The complainant — time, route, and alleged acts
August 20, 2018 · GBI interviewThe recorded account places departure from Sykes Park at about 1:06 a.m. and arrival home at about 2:50 a.m.
February 28, 2022 · Trial testimonyWhen asked about the whole encounter, she answered: “LIKE TWO, THREE HOURS.”

Her original GBI statement described a police stop at a traffic light before entering Sykes Park. The same-day route reconstruction instead described the group already in the park when the officer approached.

In the route reconstruction, she described Gooddine shining a flashlight on an already-damaged vehicle without exiting the patrol vehicle. Her trial testimony described his talking to a man outside and returning to the patrol vehicle.

Kayla Bell — what she supplied during interviews
August 20, 2018 · GBIWhen an agent asked how the complainant first knew Gooddine, Kayla answered and provided the earlier July history.
2022 trial · Kayla and GBI agentKayla acknowledged initiating the later discussion of the July incident. Agent Roulain acknowledged that Kayla filled in information when the complainant did not recall details.

Kayla told the jury that she heard a July allegation but did not report it at that time. Her participation is important to establishing who supplied each piece of the narrative; it does not itself demonstrate that a statement was false.

The mother — when she learned about July
2018 · EPPD interviewThe mother's original police interview described the complainant as having reported inappropriate touching during the earlier July encounter.
2022 · Sworn testimonyThe mother testified she was not told of a July sexual-assault allegation during that original medical episode and first learned of the allegation after the August 20 events.

She also testified that Kayla told her what happened on August 20, while the complainant was not speaking much. The mother's account of who informed her and when should be compared directly across the original interview and sworn testimony.

Her trial testimony described conflict and disagreements with her daughter during the July medical period. The specific words of the separately reported hospital exchange have not been verified in the original material reviewed here, so no quotation has been assigned to it.

Rashard Alonzo — bathroom, lights, and search
August 20, 2018 · GBIDescribed India as the person who needed the bathroom, headlights being on, and Gooddine searching him.
2022 · TrialDescribed Fish as needing the bathroom, gave a different account of the vehicle lights, and answered that he was not searched.

At trial, he also emphasized Waffle House and Marcus's birthday after the original interview described waiting for a call about a recording studio. The complete questioning is needed to distinguish changed recollection from differences in the scope of each question.

Marcus Bennett — BB gun and park encounter
August 20, 2018 · GBIDescribed shooting BB guns earlier and placing the BB gun on the vehicle floor.
2022 · TrialDescribed the BB gun being in a bookbag on the back seat and denied firing it “that night.”

These differences warrant a closer look at when and where the object was located and at what part of the day the gun was used; they do not establish that Marcus damaged any other vehicle.

India Foster — her account compared with the others
August 20, 2018 · EPPD and GBIIndia said she needed to use a restroom; the group stopped at Sykes Park, and the officer arrived after they had stopped. She described being searched.
2022 · Other witness testimonyRashard gave a different account of who needed the restroom. The complainant testified that Gooddine did not search the other three people.

These are differences between witnesses. The material reviewed does not establish that India herself changed these specific details. Her original statement should be compared with her entire trial testimony before claiming a personal recantation or altered account.
